This is a series of instruction in the principles and processes of mentoring new members to the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth. The activity of mentoring, teaching, training and experiencing ‘newbies’ is of absolute importance, both now, and more so in the future.
We must be like the community of believers in the 1st century, who saw looking after the spiritual and natural welfare of those who choose to come into the Kingdom, as paramount. Teaching was done by elders and spiritually mature men and women, and it was accomplished in the home and in ekklesia meetings. There was no religion within these seminal groups and there was no Bible for them to renege on their duty of mentoring the spiritually immature.
Today, we cannot just give new believers a Bible and send them to institutional churches, as has been done among evangelicals of all kinds over the past two to three hundred years. That is not the way the Kingdom operates, as relationships are its foundation for functioning.
